In response to recent challenges faced by voters in navigating the election code to determine their voting eligibility, we teamed up with partners at Equal Ground, Vote Riders, FLIC, and Florida Restoration Rights Coalition. Together, we were able to provide a series of four voter education workshops in South Florida, aimed at empowering and informing our community.
Led by our dedicated DFA Digital Organizer Keilah Williams, we hosted two impactful workshops targeting new citizens in partnership with FLIC Votes and Voter Riders. These workshops, held on June 7 and 10, provided essential voting knowledge to new citizens, ensuring they have the tools and information needed to participate in the democratic process confidently. By equipping new citizens with voting basics, we are actively working to prevent any future complications or arrests for pending citizens.

In another significant initiative, our amazing DFA Deputy Director D’Bria Bradshaw led the New Voter Workshop for Returning Citizens in partnership with Equal Ground, Vote Riders, and Florida Rights Restoration Coalition. This informative event, held on May 30 and June 15, provided attendees with crucial information on voter registration, election dates, and deadlines, voter identification requirements, resources for fines and fees, and updates on new legislation. By hosting this workshop, we hoped to empower returning citizens and remove barriers that may hinder their ability to engage in our democracy.
