The Boards of Florida Conservation Voters and Florida Conservation Voters Education Fund, together with Aliki Moncrief, announce Aliki’s transition from Executive Director.

published on: February 22, 2024

After ten years as Executive Director of Florida Conservation Voters (FCV) and Florida Conservation Voters Education Fund (FCVEF), Aliki Moncrief announced her transition out of that role at the end of 2023. We are excited for Aliki’s future and the opportunity to continue growing two organizations that have been so constructively transformed under her leadership.

As you know, Aliki helped found Florida Conservation Voters and FCV Education Fund in 2015 after the passage of the Florida Water and Land Conservation ballot initiative. That campaign in itself was a major victory that has dramatically increased conservation and environmental restoration funding in Florida. That successful flexing of political muscle towards protecting Florida’s environment inspired us to form FCV and FCVEF at a time when Florida lacked a political environmental organization.

Today, FCV’s mission is more important than ever. We have no doubt that the next leader of this vital organization will bring a fresh perspective, new ideas and relationships, as well as renewed energy to FCV. Together with a supportive and vibrant group of board members, the next iteration of the FCV team can continue to build political power to protect our environment, protect our democracy, and create a healthy and sustainable future for everyone.

This occasion for new leadership will bring further energy, ideas, and opportunities to advance statewide environmental and social change and our commitment to racial equity and justice. The boards fully support Aliki as she explores and embraces the next chapter of her life. We hope you will join us as we enthusiastically pursue a new Executive Director!

Florida is a beautiful place with resilient people and incredible potential. We’re thankful for our supporters, partners, volunteers, and mentors who share our belief in what is possible for Florida. And we look forward to our continued work together!

If you are or know someone who may be interested in applying for the Executive Director position and leading FCV in this next phase, please view and share the job description.
