Earlier today, Agricultural Commissioner Nikki Fried, in her capacity as a member of the Florida Cabinet, issued an important and timely proclamation opposing oil and gas drilling in the Everglades, including fracking and matrix acidizing.
The Commissioner recognized Florida Conservation Voter’s hard work on this important issue and invited FCV’s Aliki Moncrief to accept the official proclamation at the Capitol in front of Governor Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody, and Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis. We were honored, to say the least.
Commissioner Fried, in only a few short months in office, is showing she is a true environmental leader and friend to the conservation community. We are so proud to have been part of today’s ceremony and look forward to working with Commissioner Fried and her staff to protect Florida’s most precious natural resources.
