Florida Conservation Voters is proud to announce our endorsement of Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum to be the next Governor of Florida. The FCV Board of Directors voted unanimously in favor of Mayor Gillum, citing his strong commitment to protecting Florida’s environment.
“I’m grateful for Florida Conservation Voters’ endorsement of our campaign,” said Andrew Gillum, Tallahassee Mayor candidate for Governor. “Our beaches, parks, and waterways are critical to the economy of our state and to the quality of life for millions of Florida families. I believe it’s our responsibility to leave behind a better Florida for our kids and grandkids, and that’s exactly what I intend to do as Governor.”
“Mayor Gillum has proven that he has the leadership and vision to defend Florida’s environment,” said Aliki Moncrief, Executive Director, Florida Conservation Voters. “Around the world, Florida is known for our beaches, parks, and remarkable natural areas. Sadly, we are also now known for letting entire ecosystems collapse due to lenient laws and little oversight. Mayor Gillum is the only candidate who has a plan to hold big polluters accountable and make sure we do everything in our power to protect our state from climate change and sea-level rise.”
“Mayor Gillum is a practical and inspiring leader who understands that Florida’s natural areas and waters are the foundation of our economic prosperity,” said Paula Dockery, FCV Board Member and former State Senator. “Florida’s families deserve a Governor who cares about their quality of life and who will bring common-sense solutions to our most challenging environmental problems. Mayor Gillum is the right person for the job.”
