Statement from Aliki Moncrief, Executive Director, Florida Conservation Voters
Tallahassee, FL (April 5, 2017) – “Senate President Negron’s revised plan to build a reservoir south of Lake Okeechobee offers a clear path forward to restore and protect the Greater Everglades Ecosystem. Senator Bradley’s amendment removes provisions that would have harmed the state’s ability to acquire parks and conservation lands. We look forward to President Negron and Chair Bradley’s continued leadership and hope they will continue their effort to meet voters’ expectations by renewing funding and revitalizing the Florida Forever priority list.”
