I have loved Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary since my first visit there. It is home to the oldest Bald Cypress stand. That is what brought me there, but the boardwalk through his glorious section of the Everglades keeps me coming back.
Beautifully exotic birds fly overhead and fish in the glades. These include the Woodstock which enjoys nesting there. And the grasses and flowers are always showing off. The elusive ghost orchid is in residence too. I bring binoculars because Corkscrew Swamp always surprises me. So do the otters who love to play and rest on the boardwalk. A spectacular place to breathe and be, I love visiting whenever I can.
