Dear Florida: My Only Home

All kinds of people like to stay where it’s cool, and all kinds of people need a whole lotta fuel!
But I like the palm trees that sway in the breeze.
I like the waves of the ocean and the salty gulf seas.
I like the light and the warmth of the sun.

Florida’s my home and it’s my only one!

I gotta get back home, I gotta get back home to Florida – my only home, my only home.

Well the old Suwanee River weaves and winds like a snake,
Fresh water breezes blow off Okeechobee Lake,
Caloosahatchee churns on a summer afternoon,
and mullets splash in Nassau by the light of the moon.

I gotta get back home, I gotta get back home to Florida, my only home, my only home.
