Dear Florida: Anna Maria Island is a Utopia

By Susie Wood
Louisville, KY

Every year we do our best to travel to Anna Maria Island, Florida between the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay. It’s the kinda place where you feel like you are back home at Grandma’s for the summer holiday, relaxing in cut off jeans and a favorite T-shirt!

It’s quiet, down-home and familiar in so many special ways. The beach is pristine, the ocean is generally gentle and crystal clear. The sunsets might be the most beautiful in the world! Restaurants and shopping are comfortable in your beach ware and offer creative fun surprises.

I never tire of returning to the smell of the ocean and the caress of the gentle breeze. Just writing this I am counting down the days until I am reunited with my happy place!
