FCV Shines a Light on Early Voting Opportunities Ahead of Big Solar Vote

New tool allows voters to easily find info on closest early-voting location

Tallahassee, FL (August 19, 2016) – Today Florida Conservation Voters released a new web tool to help citizens find their early voting location anywhere in Florida. FCV hopes the tool will increase voter turnout for the crucial Amendment 4 vote on August 30.

As of Saturday, August 20, every county in Florida will have opened an early voting location. Citizens can find locations and open times by visiting http://live-florida-conservation-voters.pantheonsite.io/earlyvote2016.

“If every Florida voter who supports expanding the use of clean energy and reducing our state’s reliance on fossil fuels came out to vote, Amendment 4 would pass in a landslide,” said Aliki Moncrief, Florida Conservation Voters Executive Director. “The August primary is our chance to make our voices heard. Polls are open right now, make your plan to vote by visiting fcvoters.org.”

Early voting offers Floridians the opportunity to avoid lines and to vote at a time and place that is convenient for them. The early voting period ends in most counties on August 27.

“Florida voters have the chance in this primary election to unlock solar in the Sunshine State – which will bring better energy choices, more local jobs, and healthier communities across the state,” said Scott Thomason, Director of New Markets for Vote Solar. “This tool puts that power right in people’s hands, by helping anyone easily find their nearest early-voting location.”
