Governor DeSantis dropped the ball and cost Florida $3 million in federal climate funding– BUT there’s still time to encourage your city or county to apply for $1 million in climate change planning funds through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
This grant program is targeted to large metropolitan areas, which in Florida include the following cities: Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Sarasota.
Fill out this form to let your municipality know you encourage them to apply for the $1 million through the EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants Program by the April 28 deadline and that you support the creation of a climate action plan to do the following:
- Tackle damaging climate pollution while supporting the creation of good jobs and lowering energy costs for families.
- Deliver cleaner air while accelerating work to address environmental injustice and empower community-driven solutions.
With the deadline soon approaching, we must act now to urge our local leader to apply for the Climate Pollution Reduction Grants Program!
