On June 30, Governor Ron DeSantis vetoed SB 410 – a bill that would have harmed local communities’ ability to address their own growth and development. FCV would like to thank the Governor for taking this action, and thank groups like 1000 Friends of Florida for leading the fight for smart growth.
Conservation Voters, advocates, and Floridians across the state spoke up against irresponsible growth. In defense of our priceless natural resources – including our air, land, and water – conservation groups joined together to fight the passage of SB 410. The Governor’s veto highlights the power of the public’s voice and the duty that all elected officials have to meet voters’ demands.
