My job is to respond to stranded dolphins, whales, and manatees, which includes rescues of ill/sick animals and animal autopsies (i.e. necropsies). I love my job, because it allows me to contribute to the conservation of Florida marine mammals. Whether it is rescuing a watercraft-injured manatee and giving it a second chance at life, or performing a necropsy on a critically endangered, Gulf of Mexico Bryde’s whale that died from plastic ingestion, this all helps make a difference.
